Where is the rain?

Who would have thought we'd be wishing for rain in dreary old Belgium?  Dreary it is not.  We have had nothing but absolute perfection when it comes to weather for probably two months straight with the exception of a day or two.  Sun, sun, sun and 60-70 degrees.  Why am I writing a boring post about the weather?  Perhaps because one day in a year or two we'll look back and think about that spring of absolutely perfect weather with fondness as we sit in Belgian gray.  No, it's because we put in a garden with various lettuces, broccoli, cauliflower, red and yellow peppers, carrots and a pumpkin.  Poor little garden is so thirsty and since we are living it up old school over here we have no hose.  No way to water the garden other than to haul watering cans out of our second story apartment or to perch dangerously on the base of a tree while you reach down as far as you can so some stinky moat water can flow into the can.  Haul it back over the fence and use it.  I wouldn't have put in a garden if I wasn't assured that you never need to water here.  Sorry little plants.  Rain, rain, rain!  Bring it!

Oh yes, that whole no hose thing is something I never would have thought possible. You need the big water container and forklift like the landlord.... now how is that easier??

The weather today has been such a tease. Just rain already. Such a boring topic, I know. So many more blog-worthy things to write about but it's really getting annoying. We have used the forklift thing a few times but the landlords are out of town (out of country? France) so it's fend for yourself. Wishing I didn't plant it because of course mine looks all wilty and pathetic next to the neighbors. Arghhhhhhhh
