About time...

Ah, Paris.  It was so worth the wait.  We have been here over six months and live just a little over a two hour drive or an hour and twenty minutes by high speed train from this city but I wanted to do it right the first time.  Having a good friend fly all the way from Kansas to join me was a dream.  Really, how lucky were we to get to eat, shop, drink, walk, eat, shop and walk some more all without the distraction of seven children under the age of nine between us?  And here I must give huge thanks to our husbands for letting this be possible.  Completely gracious and happy for us too.  It was the best Mother's Day gift ever, and we went ahead and used "Military Spouses Day" (May 6) as another excuse for being spoiled brats.  Moving every few years, having to start out in a new home with new friends and missing the old, helping kids to adjust to a new lifestyle and all that good stuff, not to mention deployments and other crazy work related things that go with being a military spouse.  I will never, ever complain though.  Thank you Army and Brian for getting us to this point!  And thank you Paris for being so gorgeous and accommodating to a couple of tired moms ready to live it up!

Our first glimpse

Magnifique!

A little extra security detail that day.  Paris had an important visitor from Pakistan doing some business.  This guy is carrying some kind of machine gun and was no joke.

Yep, had to pose in front of the Eiffel Tower

Julie too of course.  Tres important to do.

Obviously.
So much more to come.  Pictures of food, pictures of buildings, pictures of locals who looked like they were torn from an Armani ad and much more.
