Model Homes

Today was one of those days where there really wasn't a plan other than Saturday morning swimming lessons.  Well, I'd planned to spend the day gutting the playroom but anything to get me out of that chore, I don't need a lot of convincing.  We went to lunch at Panera, one of the few places everyone will eat happily and from there took a little drive as we had two sleepers in the car.  We ended up on the new side of town where the building is never ending.  Brian had yet to visit the model homes out there, and today he finally had his opportunity.  Matthew and Brian went in a few and poked around, Matthew was absolutely giddy with excitement.   Sam and Kate woke up so we all went in and Brian and I thought maybe after his deployment we should build a house out there as it's somewhat affordable and we love it here.  We are full of big ideas.  Time to go as someone who will remain nameless has a desperate need to use a bathroom, and not in a model home (it was a kid...) so that's out of the way and we all buckle in.  Next thing you know Kate is sobbing, "I want to go back to my model home!  My model home!  I want to play with my dollhouse in my model home!".  It's a chain reaction.  Sam starts in..."More model homes, I love model homes", and Matthew, "Where are the rest of the model homes?  We need to check them out!".  This is a PASSION with our family!  We all love it and lucky us, we got to go investigate the newest neighborhood in town with homes way out of our price range!  Why not take a peek we thought...oh big mistake.  These homes are very, very nice and really well laid out.  Made us both realize we do not want to build a home that we can afford!  We want one we can't.  Once this little adventure was over we returned home, and I honestly felt like I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.  This house is perfect, just can't be forever.  It's so much fun to plan the "someday house" and in the meantime we are getting lots of good ideas of what we want and don't want.
