Boating
Not a real big activity for our family, but apparently it was what Sam looked forward to doing all day. He kept talking about when he would be in the water, how he would need a paddle, and if he should wear his swim trunks. To be honest I didn't really investigate what all this talk was about as it was a crazy day around here and we've got a lot on our minds. Sam was exceptionally agreeable with getting his shoes and coat on this evening after dinner, Brian and I just had to run into the school down the street to cast our ballot in the Washington State primary (which I now learn doesn't count as all delegates were figured out at our caucus on the 9th. Whatever, we must exercise our right!). The kids were pretty excited to be going into school at night. It was a quick, painless process as nobody else was there, so back in the car we go, and Sam bursts into tears, "I wanted to go BOATING...you said we were going to BOAT. I want to go in a red CANOE. I wanted to use the PADDLE..." Tears were streaming down his face, poor kid. At least we live in a good place to take up that new hobby.
