Post Christmas Walk

Kate and I took a walk around the grounds the other day and brought along our cameras.  Here's a selection of pictures.  A very random selection, but here you go...

Little birdhouse in front of our place that a bird actually uses, thank you gracious Belgian bird!

Very cool pillar that holds up our makeshift wire fence to our little backyard!

Another pillar with our living room window in the background

Yes this is a grave stone.  It was found in the moat a few summers ago.  It now sits on the  low wall to our garden.  The names appear to be Spanish and family members with young children, all who died in 18-something.  Creepy Cool.

A decorative piece out in the back.  The kids have nicknamed her "Snail Boobs".  Because she once had a snail on her boob.  Makes sense.

Part of the Magic Tree, all pretty and mossy

Hello Brian!  Cheering us on with a Belgian brew

This is the side of the barn that is now our neighbors' house.  Isn't it cool?  It includes the five story tower.

Our house from the back

Pretty gate at the Phillips' house...some great neighbors

Old gate detail

Donkey girls

I love old rusty stuff

Gentile, the sweetest of all the sheep.  Pronounced "JohnTee" because she is French.

Dirty rain barrels, rusty metal and mossy old barn wood makes for a pretty picture I think.

Old hay rack in the barn

Just another old door laying around these parts.  Did I mention I love old stuff?

Sign being used as part of a makeshift pen for future lambs.

Gentile again.

Sheep food

Kate getting a picture of the ducks

Our boy

Anxiously waiting for someone to throw his stick.

Magic Tree in winter

The kids all have "workshops" out at the tree.

The Magic Tree is a natural jungle gym

Pretty rusty old thing

Chestnut fallen from Magic Tree

Super old pillars or something in the ground

This chunk of the tree fell two years ago.

Trunk of the 800 year old chestnut tree

Old Whiskey barrel

Living room window, you can kind of see the Christmas Tree with our weak display of 220V lights from IKEA

My attempt at craftiness.  A little shriveled now but they looked pretty good several weeks ago when they were fresh

Welcome

We still haven't figured out what this old thing is but we like it.
There you go...some of the pictures are blurry since I am forcing myself to only use manual settings for these kinds of shots.  Obviously I have a long way to go in mastering the art of photography!  Practicing is fun though...
