St. Nicholas and Black Peter made their rounds the weeks leading up to December 6 (when he stops by your house in the night to put toys and candy in your shoes. I wonder if they make giant shoes like they make giant stockings? Something to explore.) We hosted him at our place along with the rest of the chateau crowd. I posted about this event last year, and some may recall the guys liked to drink. They still like to drink this year too.
Party on!
| Handing out candy |
| Black Peter cracking jokes. Too bad nobody can understand them. |
| Taking care of the staff |
| Time to tell the big guy what you want. Remember, these guys speak no English |
| Some of the crew. What do you think Sam is thinking right here? |
| A little more candy as what else can you do when there's a communication barrier? |
| The ten and under crowd |
| Singing the St. Nicholas song that nobody knows the words to. |
| Sharing a moment. Peter with his glass of red, Nicholas with his shot of Jack. Really. |
| "???????" |
| What are they saying to Luke? |
| Putting aside the Jack for this |
| Bridget speaks beautiful French thanks to living here since she was two (has only attended French speaking school) St. Nicholas looks relieved. |
| Chateau boys minus two |
| Ten and under chateau girls (minus one) |
| Should have been the Christmas card. |
| AND the evening is done. Sam takes a hurling (hockey-like) stick to the brow. |
Here's last years post about these guys, it may explain what they are all about a little more.
