From here to there

You really can't go wrong living out here, but I want to experience life in as many Belgian houses as possible.  Or at least two.  Yes, two will be plenty.  Chateau life was grand, but the opportunity arose to move out of the chateau, across the cobblestones and into the renovated carriage house.  I've always been more of a carriage house type of girl than a princess so this is really appealing.  It's very pretty and cozy, as the chateau was pure elegance (with a rustic charm).  The real kicker was the new place has the extra bedroom and it's own little yard.  We can sit on our patio and feed the ducks!  This whole Belgian experience feels like an extended vacation and now more than ever.  When I am not staring at boxes that is.  Actually it turns out this is the easiest move we've made since probably college.  We had a week to shuttle stuff down the elevator and across the drive, and Friday we rented a lift (think giant platform that is raised to reach second story window) for a few hours, and Brian and his helpers got it all out.  Thank goodness for our helpers...we are feeling very, very fortunate for these fellows.  The best thing to come out of Brian's ILE course is his friendship with this guy who just happens to have three teenage boys who wanted to see Belgium (and a wife and five other kids who did too...but that's another post and darn it I didn't get a picture).  So, we have moved once again folks.  We have moved from 9-2 to 9A-1 if that means anything to you at all.  We still have space for guests and can't wait to share this crazy Euro-life with anyone wanting to visit!

The new digs.  The building was originally a barn on the far right (with an amazing wine cellar underneath) and the carriage house on the left.  We have from the far left of the picture to the first garage door.

Two of my favorite flowers.  Yellow roses and red geraniums.  Blue hydrangeas are my view out the back!
Interior pictures to follow, probably around when I finish Italy and Ireland.  Ha ha.
