Farm Life

Love the farm life.  Love the smells and the sounds and all that goes with it, even the muddy boots.  Of course I'm not the one who has to make this farm run smoothly,  we just get to dabble in it and reap the benefits.  We are up to seven newborn lambs here, with seven ewes total...three more mamas are still waiting for their new additions.  To say these little babies are cute is an understatement, we are all in love with them.  Sadly the babies won't be staying long.  They will go to "new homes" where they will have "new owners".  The 4-Her in me is ok with this.  The mom in me, not so much.

The mamas just waiting...

Twins!  Girl on left, Boy on right

Nasty chicken in nasty mud, but they earn their keep.  Delicious egg-layer and garbage disposal all in one.

Sometimes a chicken lays a freak double yolk egg

The one in the middle goes to the first kid out of bed

Every farm must have it's farmers.  Some of the guys here planting trees.

This is the scene out the window next to me.  The ducks are spoiled...the kids throw them sandwich crusts regularly
I purposely left out the donkeys who are not my favorite.  Other than those three, this is what we've got here on the "farm".

I guess I shouldn't forget the attempted duck hunter (yes, she jumped in the moat after one) and donkey/sheep herder (a kick in the head by a donkey deterred her a bit).  Life is rough for Molly Dog.
