Blue and Gold

The boys had their Cub Scout banquet recently, and of course fun was had by all!  How can a room full of many, many boys under the age of 11 or so not be anything but fun?  Really loud and crazy fun, yes.  I prepared by taking a few ibruprofin to ward off the inevitable headache.  No, truly it was a really good event.  Very well organized and set up so the kids could run around and do their own thing independently and the adults got to have actual adult conversations.  It's a really nice group of people here too.

Matthew in the "pie" eating contest.  It was a gummy worm with whipped cream.  He of course won.

The banquet was not a banquet at all...more of a carnival.  Cupcake walk, pie eating, hoop tossing, bean bag throwing (and would you believe the only person to make it in the 100 point box the entire day was our very own Kate?  That girl has an arm.)  What else...human slot machine (WTH you say?), face painting and a Nerf Gun war zone thing that of course had the longest lines of anything.  Those boys were fired up!

Since we are on the scout thing, here is yet another picture of Sam as he announced the Pledge of Allegiance at our last pack meeting.  He was so nervous doing this in front of all those people but you'd never have known it.  Got to give props where props are due (aka excuse the mom bragging stuff but I can't say I'm not proud)...

Well done SJB!
