Matthew had his haircut this week! Big news in Benderville. I've gotten used to his sweet little mop head but it was time for a change. I took advantage of Alie being here...she didn't cut it (she knows better than to mess with Matthew and his hair) but she directed the fine stylist at Great Clips. I was afraid we'd either come home with a bowl cut or a high and tight, with Alie's guidance all went well.
We also had a great overnight to the Great Wolf Lodge, for those of you who don't know of these places it's a huge indoor waterpark attached to a hotel, a little something there for everyone. There is a brand new one about 35 minutes south of here, almost too close as Alie and I hardly had a chance to polish off our delicious (not) McDonald's lunch (it's ok on a roadtrip, right?) No pictures of our adventure but the kids had so much fun.
A little Sam-ism...A friend (thank you Rebecca!) lent us two "magic wands" for this interactive game at Great Wolf Lodge. After picking the wands up, the kids were fascinated by the prospect of us actually having real magic in the car. At least Matthew and Kate were; Sam the ever so logical told them, "They are NOT magic. I was in that house before and I tried to turn the boy into a frog and it did NOT work." Hmmm. At that point he had never been in that house and well, this doesn't even need explaining. Someone is becoming quite the storyteller.

I love the pictures! Matthew looks so handsome. I'm glad you all had fun at the Great Wolf Lodge - it sounds like the kids really, really enjoyed it. And the Sam story - classic. I can hear him saying that, emphasizing the "NOT" and kind of puckering his lips as he says it sternly. I miss it...
I love you all so much!
Love,
