I am really enjoying the house, but may love the yard more, especially the front yard. Of course it was completely landscaped before we moved in, and at ten years old it is fairly established. Right now there is so much color, it is really pretty. It amazes me to look outside and see so much green along with pink, white, purple, red, you get the idea. We've been here almost two years but apparently those less than four years in San Antonio left quite an impression...try planting something in the ground short of a cactus and it will burn. I potted flowers each year but rarely did they last more than a month, and green? Wasn't sure what that was for a while. Anyway, Washington is beautiful and so is my little yard, I guess that's the point to this rambling post.
The rose bushes in back are out of control, any tips from rose experts would be appreciated. I have one that has a shoot with fourteen, yes 14 buds...just one of many shoots on this plant. This can't be normal?

We had out of control rose bushes in TX, remember? They would attack people on the back deck. I would give advice but clearly I had no clue what to do besides hack them down on occasion and back they would grow...
I should have named the post "things I touch don't die here".
Those TX years were a blur, but I now recall those rose bushes that grabbed at us while we snacked out on your deck!
