Right now our friends at SHAPE are enjoying "Ski Week". Pre-Lenten break is the proper term, but, for most, it's ski week. Last year Brian had a conference the week before ski week, and dang it, it had to be in Garmisch. Grrrr. So, the kids and I tagged along and here is what went down...
Insane, ridiculous amounts of snow. There was a day or two where you couldn't see a foot in front of you, it was coming down so heavy. Isn't this gorgeous?
Below, a bunch of pictures of the kids during their ski school. They absolutely loved it. I'm happy...and surprised a little as I am not the hugest fan. I'm proud of them, and to think their introduction to skiing was in the Bavarian Alps...and on a gondola by day three. Matthew had two ski weeks in the French Alps under his belt at this point thanks to school field trips. We miss that school very much.

| Back at the lodge. That is apple juice or affleschlor (a German name for juice and sparkly water that I'm probably butchering). Anyhow, Sam is not drinking beer. |
Several friends are in Garmisch now for ski week, and it seems they are having to make snow. What a difference a year makes.
UPDATE: Just went back a bit in the blog entries and see that I already covered this event. Obviously been away too long and I apologize for the redundancy and my spaciness.
