Brian arrived home two days after Sam's birthday, so we waited until he'd caught up on a little sleep and celebrated. Sam really wanted a Sonic cake, Sonic the Hedgehog from a video game that he has for his Leapster, it's the latest boy obsession around here. I failed to track down a Sonic cake from a professional cake maker so I rigged this little number shown above last minute as the mom guilt was setting in fast. You'd never know I'd taken a cake decorating class somewhere along the way. I am looking like making this cake took a lot out of me in that picture, awesome. Happy birthday once again to our big five year old!
