We met up with Nana Karen, Greg, Lizzie and her kids at the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma today. Beautiful day and great to catch up. The kids had so much fun, loads of laughs from all.

Checking out the spectacled owl, he was straight out of a storybook. He's not really in the shot but he was social, he hopped on the branch closest to the kids and started talking to them. They were impressed.

This guy and his friend stole the show, at least for the kids. We must have stood and watched the belugas for a solid fifteen minutes while enduring screeches of excitement every time one would swim by. The grown ups were impressed as well, but the belugas paled in comparison to the show the walruses in the tank next door put on. Seems it was mating time for Mr. and Mrs. Walrus. And we had an up close, front and center seat to it all. Yes, I mean all. Wow.

And here is Matthew in a hippo's mouth. I am sure you are still thinking about walruses, but check out our biggest guy.

yes, thank you for sparing us photos of the walruses...
Great pictures! How about Kate's look on the first picture? Wow - is that the Bender Scowl? Don't mess with little sister. The kids look really happy there (even Kate) - you are a great mom! I am so thankful you are the glue that holds it together!
I love you all!
