Six years old

Hard to believe our first baby is six!  Matthew had a great birthday and seemed to grow up overnight.  He is so helpful and tries so hard to do the right thing, I am really proud of that boy.  He is six now so wonders why he hasn't lost a tooth.  In fact he very seriously reported that his kindergarten teacher asked the class to raise their hand if they'd lost a tooth.  Every kid raised their hand but Matthew.  She then asked the class to raise their hand if they had not lost a tooth.  Matthew, head down, says "Mommy, I was the only one who hasn't lost a tooth."  I responded (and perhaps not in the best way) "Matthew, you were the only one who hasn't lost a tooth and is telling the truth."  I am sure that big event is around the corner, although no wiggles to report.  Good, keep those baby teeth, doesn't that mean less cavities or something?  (wishful thinking!)

Thank you to those who made Matthew's birthday so special with phone calls, cards, gifts and visits!

No rush to get those dorky big kid teeth and yes, the longer until he gets them, the better in terms of cavities. Megan lost another one the other night and I continue to be repulsed by the bloody gap she shows off right afterwards. Anyway, sorry to miss another birthday, he looks so much older!
